Patty Hautamaki
Physical Therapist
If you are looking for a physical therapist that "knows the area", look no further than Patty Hautamaki. A true local, Patty grew up only 30 minutes from Ladysmith in the town of Winter, WI, and attended high school there. Continuing with the trend, Patty pursued both her collegiate and post-graduate education in Wisconsin, graduating from both UW-LaCrosse and UW-Marshfield/Wood County. She has her master’s degree in physical therapy and has taken extensive post-graduate coursework through Emory University, the University of Minnesota, the Jones Institute, the Institute of Physical Arts, and the Spinal Manipulation Institute.
Hautamaki comes to OST from a five year tenure with the Marshfield Clinic and Lakeview Medical Center. She has previously volunteered with Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, UW-LaCrosse Student Health Center, and Franciscan Skemp Hospital. Special interests within the field include vestibular and balance disorders, work injuries, and post-surgical care.
A lifelong student at heart, Patty mentions that she "learns with each patient she sees", and finds that watching her patients progress towards their goals is the most rewarding part of her career. According to Patty, a key factor in having her patients reach those goals is "listening to the person who knows the situation best, and admitting that you can't know everything." It is this humble attitude that has garnered so much success in Patty's professional relationships with her patients, as well as their overall outcome.
Patty and husband JJ are the proud parents of a son and daughter, Spencer and Anna. When not treating, you can find Patty outside riding her bike, walking, and playing with her kids.
