OST of Shawano is hosting an open house featuring Jason Roe, Physical Therapist. Jason has recently been certified to perform the Funcitonal Movement Screen (FMS), and will be performing demos of this screen during the evening. There will be drawings for free 1 on 1 training,  and food will be available. All area public are invited to attend, with a special emphasis on athletes, coaches, and athletic directors. The FMS is a screen that can help both athletes and non-athletes alike prevent serious injury while working out, participating in team sport, or other various hobbies. The FMS is a numerical score based screen, and has the patient perform 7 different physical tests. These tests not only monitor your strength, but also include flexibility, balance, agility, and functional health of your muscles, joints, and overall body. Having an FMS performed is a cost effective way to find out if you are ready for your exercise goals, and to see if you are a candidate for physical therapy. OST of Shawano is the proud sponsor of the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Family Stroll on Saturday, June 25th, at 9am. The 1 mile walk will raise funds to help children with diabetes in Shawano, and around the United States. Registration can be done at the clinic, and online at http://jdrfevents.donordrive.com. Individuals are $10, and a family (3 or more) is $25. Strollers and pets are welcome! Sign up, bring a friend, and join us at Sturgeon Park on the Mountain Bay Trail.
