Physical Therapy for Fibromyalgia?
Thursday, May 1, 2008

Joe Waller, PT
Orthopedic & Spine Therapy of Waupaca
Q : Is there anything physical therapy can do for fibromyalgia?
A : Fibromyalgia patients often get good relief from their chronic muscular and neurological symptoms with physical therapy. Specially trained manual therapists have unique techniques allowing them to properly stretch the involved muscles as well as performing myofascial techniques to help alleviate the neural tension and chronic pain associated with fibromyalgia. Manual therapists are also trained to evaluate the mechanical dysfunctions of the spine that can be leading to the chronic muscle tightnesses and fascial restrictions. Exercise is also an important component to this disease and a trained physical therapist can properly design a program for you.

OSTPT.com has a brand new look! And that's not all... our website has new features, too! Two of those being Directions to Clinics and Patient Forms.
Directions to Clinics
Many of the visitors to our website are looking for clinic information such as hours of business, services, and most of all location. Now, when you go to the Find Clinics page and use the map to find an Orthopedic & Spine Therapy clinic nearby, you will see a section titled "Get Directions to [clinic location] OST:".
Simply type in your starting address, click the "Go" button, and a new window will open with driving directions right to the clinic!
Patient Forms
Also, in the new For Patients section you will see a link to the Patient Forms page. We are now making our patient forms available for download! All you need to do is click the link for the form and print it out.

(Note: If not already installed, you may need to download Adobe Reader to view forms. There is a link on the Patient Forms page to the Adobe Reader free download page.)
Now you can fill out the information required on each form in the comfort of your home, making your first visit even more convenient!
These new features are two more ways we are partnering with you to provide superior physical therapy solutions to enhance your quality of life.
