Recovering from injury is no small feat-and the right nutrition can make that job a whole lot easier. Join our registered dietitian, Stephanie Nelson, and Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Abbey DeBruin, for an informative session all about how food supports your healing journey.

We’ll chat through:

Stephanie Nelson

Stephanie Nelson is a Registered Dietitian, with years of clinical oncology practice in a hospital setting. She received her BS from UW-Green Bay in Nutrition and Dietetics and went on to complete her Master’s degree in Nutrition and Wellness from Benedictine University. She became a dietitian to help others find the joy of food again, after years of stressing and dieting. Food can be very helpful in our overall health, but it is also meant to be enjoyed and celebrated-not feared.

Dr. Abbey DeBruin, Orthopedic Surgeon, OSMS

Caring for patients of all ages, Dr. DeBruin sees and treats ACL tears, multi-ligament knee injuries, meniscus tears, patellofemoral instability, AC joint separations, shoulder instability, and more. Additionally, Dr. DeBruin has a special interest in treating sports-related injuries of the female athlete.

Procedures Dr. DeBruin performs include, but are not limited to, tibial tubercle and femur/tibia osteotomies, rotator cuff repairs, arthroscopic labral repairs, partial and total knee replacements, and anatomic and reverse shoulder replacements.
